This past weekend, we took the kids to pick out their Christmas ornament for the year at Hallmark. This is a tradition that we all look forward to, even if we have to skillfully steer them away from the $25 ones. yikes!
Claire picked a singing Elsa ornament, of course. Long live "Let it Go!" Avery was searching for a ninja turtle, but he settled for a Frosty the Snowman (from the classic Christmas cartoon) that sings, too. They were both pretty excited and proud to carry their own purple Hallmark bags with the boxes inside. The store clerk must have kids and know that these types of things cannot be packaged together! ;)
Showing our picks to Mimi and Grandpa...
Next, we sat down in the middle of the mall to watch "Leonard Bearnstein" and his singers and orchestra perform. It was pretty neat for Goldsboro, I must say. The kids weren't quite sure what to think of the robotic bears and were leery of getting too close, but they also didn't plan on leaving anytime soon. We had to sit through quite a lot of holiday songs mixed with only mildly amusing bear banter.
Cheese!
Though they may not look too excited, Mimi and Grandpa enjoyed it, too. :)
The bears moved, "sang," and "played" instruments along with popular Christmas songs. This will likely become a fun tradition for us while here in NC!
