The kids are really excited about Christmas, and it's fun to see the magic of this time of the year through their eyes. We (and our elf) have had to get creative with activities to help them pass the time until the big day, and this snowman and a similar gingerbread man have especially been a big hit!
We're all excited about having a mantle to hang our stockings on in this new house!
They've also had a lot of fun counting down to Christmas. The candy cane on the Santa gets moved each day...
and Avery made a paper chain at school to help keep track of the number of days left, too.
This was also our first year using the Advent candles. We tried to incorporate scripture verses and Christmas carols as we lit a new candle each Sunday. I'm not sure how much they got out of the verses, but they did enjoy the singing and taking turns helping to light and blow out the candles each night.
I really enjoy having our little family traditions that the kids get excited about and look forward to each year!
