Avery had a follow up appointment with Dr. Paidas today to see how his incision's healing from the removal of the g-tube. He said that although it looks like a "pretty big battle wound," it will heal nicely like the others. Dr. Paidas was impressed with Avery's good eating and how happy he is. He kept saying: "Get Pam in here (his nurse practitioner)! She has to see him! Look how good he looks! I'm gonna show him off!" It was pretty funny.
Avery was so cute when Dr. Paidas was examining his belly. He kept tugging on his coat sleeves like he wanted him to pick him up. He eventually gave in and picked him up for some doctor-patient bonding time. Avery kept trying to chew on his badge (eww), but when he remembered his binky and pooh block were nearby, he decided to share those with the doctor instead.
Now, unless he should start to have any problems, we just give them a call when Avery turns 1 and let them know how he is doing. He'll get to stop taking the prevacid at 12 months, too, which he will be extremely happy about.

As Dr. Paidas left the room smiling, he chuckled and said, "That little s*** just made my day..." Um, I'm going to go with he was using that as a term of endearment. Either way, he owes Avery a quarter for his piggy bank. : )
