Thursday, Phil got home from work early so we decided to head out to a local pumpkin patch- Holland Farms. This is a 300 acre family farm just north of us that mainly grows peanuts. This time of the year, they offer pumpkins, a corn box, petting zoo, hay ride, and playground. Avery was very excited about going because he wanted to get a "purple pumpkin." Needless to say, they didn't have quite was he was looking for, however, he settled for finding an orange pumpkin for both him and little sister.
He spotted the tractor and wanted to go on the hay ride right away...until it was about to get going, and then he wanted to get off. We were able to convince him to ride, but Avery was too scared to help the driver steer, which he kindly offered. Maybe next year..
Claire slept the whole time, and I worked hard trying to keep her from getting a sun burn. It wasn't quite the cool fall day we'd have hoped for, but at least it wasn't 90'...

This is Avery looking into the corn box (picture a giant sandbox but filled with corn kernels). Even though Phil and I both got in, he didn't want to "get his shoes dirty." Oh my.
He did enjoy riding this cute horse swing.
Searching for the perfect pumpkin...even if it's not purple. ;)
