Welcome Home, Daddy!!

We were so excited to find out that Phil was coming home the day before Easter! He was just in time to celebrate the holiday and spend the whole week off of work while the kids were home for spring break. It's not very often that we actually get to see him fly, so we all loved getting to go out on the flight line to watch his plane land.

Avery was given the very special and important job of helping Daddy park the plane. He was a little hesitant when Col. Morrison (Phil's commander) first asked him if he'd like to help...then Nana mentioned that he'd get to hold special "light sabers." That pretty much sealed the deal. ;)

What an awesome experience! I know that he and Phil (who was flying/driving the plane) won't ever forget it.

Sis waves to dad as he pulls in!

The kids were so happy and couldn't wait for Phil to get off of the plane. They kept waving back and forth to him in the cockpit, and they were not happy waiting for customs to do their thing before Daddy could come out. Finally reunited!

Notice how neither kid is particularly happy about mom being in the picture. I could only hold Claire if she was still smooshed up next to Phil, and Avery hung on to him for dear life incase I might try to pry him away. We know who the favorite parent will be for the foreseeable future...

Nana got to be there for the homecoming, too! We are all happy Phil's back safe and sound!
