A Sad Goodbye

This week we had to say a very sad goodbye to our Samantha Jane, "Sam". It was one of the hardest things Phil and I have ever had to do. We have been working on our own and with the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida for over a month now in trying to find her a great new home (she deserves the best!). She is very nervous and skittish around Avery and his toys and has growled/barked at him on multiple occasions when he's tried to pet her. We could no longer risk Avery's safety or us having to put her down should she actually try to bite him. She was our first baby, having gotten her in Columbus, MS shortly after we were married 5 years ago. We love her so much, and, despite her shedding, loud bark, and propensity for jumping on people, we already miss her terribly. She is in a great facility with lots of other dogs to play with, loving humans, toys, and exercise, but she is still in need of a forever home. We hope and pray that she finds one soon. If you or someone you know may be interested, you can contact us or the rescue society directly.

We love her and miss her, and we'll never forget her.

I can only imagine how hard it was but ya'll did the very.responsible thing by working so hard to find her a new home that she'll feel better in too. :) ((hugs)) I know y'all will always love and miss her!
