Avery's 1st Birthday Celebration!

We were blessed to be surrounded by friends and family for Avery's first birthday party and the week around it. Avery seemed to enjoy being the center of attention, and he didn't get overwhelmed with all the commotion (except for when it came time to smash the cake!).

Grammy, Grandpa, and Aunt Shell got into town first.

Next came Papaw and Nana...

and Uncle Luke and Aunt Alison.

Nana, Papaw, Grandpa, and Aunt Shell took Avery to the pool while Mom and Grammy ran out for last minute party items and started decorating.

It was an Elmo party... in case you couldn't tell. ;)

My homemade Avery birthday sign (Sesame Street, of course)!

Avery loved opening his presents!

He got a little help from his best buddy, Easton.

He wasn't much of a fan of his smash cake...

Dad made it home from his trip early!! (and just in time to help open a few last presents)

The next day we visited the fountains in Hyde Park and ate at Datz before most everyone left for home.

Finally, no celebration would be complete without a trip to Chuck E Cheese! Avery had all kinds of fun with Papaw, Grammy, and Grandpa in tow, along with Mom and Dad.

He liked to hand us the balls when we played games!

One last spin on the carousel...

We had such a great time with everyone in town. Thank you so much for making this first birthday such a special one for Avery! We miss you already!
