Claire's First Day of Preschool

It's official, we have a new preschooler on our hands! Claire was so excited to get to go to school just like big brother. The funny thing is that both of them have teachers named Mrs. Smith, or Mrs. "Fifth," as Claire says.

Thankfully, Phil was home for Labor Day and got to come with us for the first day of school. Claire had been shy during orientation but seemed excited about her classroom and new friends. However, she was not a happy camper when it came time to leave her the first day of class. She had a death grip on Phil and had to eventually be pried off of him as we made a quick escape. We could still hear her crying as we left the building for our "day date," Starbucks and then Lowes to look at lighting and backsplash tile...ahhh, being a grown up is so much fun, but I digress.

I called to check on her from Lowes, and she had calmed down and was doing just fine. She ended up having a great day and talked about her new friends and how much fun she had when we picked her up. Her favorite things were playing on the playground and singing songs.

See, she looks happy at pick up! Our big 3 year old weighs 34 lbs and is 37 inches tall. She wants to be "Belle (the princess) and drink coffee" when she grows up. :)
