Right after Christmas, Avery decided that he needed a screwdriver to go with his play tools. I told him that if he wanted it, he'd need to spend his own money. We were done gift-giving for a while! He doesn't yet get an allowance, but he has change that we've given him here and there. He dumped everything out, and Phil helped him to organize the coins before we headed off to Tractor Supply in search of a screwdriver.
Lucky for Avery, he found a kids' tool set that was 40% off and even had some change left over for a small dump truck. I felt bad for the cashier that recounted over $12 in change, but he didn't seem to mind, and Avery was so proud. :) What a big boy!
