A few weeks ago, my dad was able to take Avery fishing for the first time at the ponds around my parent's house, sacred ground for us growing up (picture swimming, fishing, bonfires, canoeing) . It was something that they'd both been looking forward to for a while. My Dad bought Avery a kids' Cars fishing pole several months ago, and they even have a special song, "A Fishing We Will Go." They each grabbed a hat and a pole and headed down the drive. Avery was very excited to have his own pole, but 2 year old attention span is not quite adequate for a serious fisherman, so our first trip didn't last too long. We tried two different spots and had a few bites but didn't catch more than moss before Avery had wet his pants and needed to be taken back to the house. haha, poor guy. It was a special afternoon, nonetheless, and we are looking forward to going with Grandpa again soon!
