Claire turned 8 months old on the 23rd! She has learned a few new tricks this month, like waving and being able to turn her tongue sideways. She's not sleeping through the night, but with Phil gone, it's just easier to nurse her so she'll fall back asleep quickly than to deal with sleep training. I'll probably regret this later, but for now it's survival mode. ;) She's not crawling but she is rocking back and forth from a sitting position trying to reach things, so she's making progress! She is still nursing every 3 or 4 hours, but she loves baby food and will eat at least 1, if not 2, containers for each meal. She is practicing with a sippy cup (with water) and can get it to her mouth..mostly just to chew on it for now. She loves her big brother, but as she's getting more mobile and personable, he's getting more jealous and protective of his toys and mommy. This is just a hint of the arguments I'm going to have to referee in the future, I'm sure. She still thinks he hung the moon, however, and Avery really does a good job of looking out for her most of the time, giving her toys to play with (on his terms) and reassuring her when she's upset. Claire loves to stand with help, and she'll tighten up and straighten out like a board when you try and get her to sit down. No teeth yet! She also gives hugs and slobbery open mouth kisses, mostly to her mommy. :)

Way to adorable for words!!!! She's getting so big and those eyes are gorgeous. Can't wait to see her (and the rest of you guys) in June :)
