Avery had his one year appointment with Dr. Paidas (his pediatric surgeon) this week, and everything went really well. The doctor was surprised at how much Avery had grown (he obviously likes to eat!). The scars are all healing well, and he no longer has to take the Prevacid (which he's been taking twice a day since birth). Dr. Paidas will find us a new pediatric surgeon wherever we move next and also a GI doctor. As long as Avery continues to eat without any issues, he'll just have to follow up with these doctors once a year until about age 5. He doesn't want to do any more swallow studies unless we notice that Avery's having new difficulties...the less radiation the better.
