While home for Naomi and Cory's wedding, we were blessed to able to spend time with lots of other friends and family, as well. We were super excited that Courtney and Ross (Claire's godparents) were in town with Ethan, who just turned one!
Avery and Claire wanted to help him with his present.
What a handsome boy!
Traditional Ross and Lindsey pic:
We also were able to meet my mom's side of the family at my cousin Krista's house for a pool party. Instead of letting us swim and socialize...they preferred to color inside. sigh. At least we talked Jenn and Brynn into coloring with us!
Too cute!
My BFF Ashley and her boys, Logan (my godson!) and Evan, came over to Mom's one morning for a playdate!
They all played really well together! It makes me sad that we live too far apart to do it very often. :(
We had so much fun, we decided to all trek to the zoo the next day! The weather was absolutely beautiful, and I was super proud of Avery for walking the whole time!
Little kids ride in style ;)
Mimi, Anna, Lydia, and Nana came along, too, and they were a big help with the kids!
Our cute monkeys!
Avery was super excited to get to go fishing with Grandpa while at home! They went twice during the week and unfortunately only caught a snapping turtle this time (which was still pretty neat to talk about!).
Claire wanted to try, too.
Phil looking super manly with Avery's Cars fishing pole ;)
Our good friends John (Phil's college roommate) and Sarah stopped by Nana's to see us for lunch one day, and we had a great time meeting Ryan (almost 2!) and introducing the kids. Sadly, I didn't get a pic of the adults, but here are a few of Ryan and Claire's lunch date. ;)
Phil and I had a great time playing tennis at my parents' house during the week. It was nice to be able to leave the kids with family or sleeping and have a little time to ourselves. We were a little rusty after having not played much at all in about 4 years, but it started coming back to us! We ended up getting our rackets restrung and regripped after the old grips started to disintegrate in our hands!
The night before we left, we had a bonfire at my Mom and Dad's. Avery loved roasting marshmallows and looking for lightning bugs. He enlisted everyone's help in catching the lightning bugs and ended up with 14 in my old bug catcher to put in his room for the night. We don't have them in FL, so it was an extra special event!
Miss Potato Head
Claire had to eat her smore early, because her bedtime was way before dark!
Papaw, Rica, Uncle Tim, and Aunt Anna stopped by, too!
Tennis courts are the best places for lightsaber battles!
Lounge time :)
All worn out and sick with a stomach bug for the drive back to FL... Ugh!
Thank you to everyone who took time to play with us while we were home. Can't wait to get back and see you all again!
