Palafox Street

Today was a beautiful day, so we decided to head downtown to Palafox Street for their weekly market and to check out the boats and the splash park on the waterfront.  The market was really neat. There were a lot of venders with local produce, baked goods, arts and crafts, soaps, etc. We were good and only left with a spider man cookie for Avery. Next time, though, I'm coming back with bags for some of the fresh fruit and veggies.

Avery and his cookie (he also insisted on bringing mr. potato head from home, minus most of his facial features...)

We didn't realize that the fountains at Plaza De Luna (at the end of Palafox Street) aren't turned on until 11 on Saturday, and we ended up being about 2 hours too early. Boo. Instead of splashing around we looked at all of the big boats, watched the fishermen, and looked for fish. Avery still seemed to have a great time.

Before heading home, we did stop by the Rogers Scott pool/splash pad again since we'd told Avery that he'd get to play in some water. I found a nice lounge chair in the shade, and Phil and Avery had fun getting wet. Today was a great start to our Father's Day weekend!
