The Flood

Last weekend here was rainy...really rainy. As in, Pensacola got more than 13 inches of rain just on Saturday, and it rained from Friday through Monday. Ugh. We had a lot of fun things planned, so it was pretty disappointing. There were outdoor markets scheduled for downtown and in Pace, the maritime park next to the baseball stadium was having their grand opening with lots of fun things for kids, and we wanted to try out a new splash park. Needless to say, none of that happened.

This is what we were up against:

Instead we stayed inside, except for a quick trip to Target and church on Sunday, and worked a lot around the house. We (ok, Phil) finished painting the dining room and breakfast "nook." I put more things away. Avery and Bailey went pretty stir crazy. By the end of the weekend, we all had about as much indoor togetherness as we could take.

I'm happy to report that, aside from much of our mulch washing down the driveway (which was easy to sweep back in place), the house/neighborhood didn't have any damage from all the rain, and today we were back to nice and sunny. Avery and Bailey are happy to be able to go outside to play, and this weekend's forecast looks great for outdoor activities.
