Avery had his first putt putt experience this past weekend when Phil's dad, Papaw, came in town to visit. We went to Congo River Mini Golf in Clearwater and practically had the place to ourselves, which was good because we were a little slow moving from hole to hole. (Sorry the pictures are a little blurry- I used an old camera!)
Avery had his choice of a real little putter or a plastic one, and he went back and forth on which one he wanted to use. He also asked to trade with Papaw's club a few times. He has gone to the driving range and golf course with Phil before, so he had some idea of what to do. He was so excited to hit the ball that he would lean over it and swing really fast back and forth...we never knew where the ball would end up!
My little lefty in action!
He eventually got tired of all the swinging and would just pick his ball up (and sometimes Papaw's too) and drop it in the hole. Then he'd look up at us proudly and wait for us to cheer.
After golfing, he and Papaw fed the baby alligators. They gave us pieces of hot dog to put on the end of a rope attached to a stick.
These alligators weren't very quick to go after the bait, but eventually they did drag themselves off the rock to eat the food.
After golfing, Avery ate his first happy meal. He had a cheeseburger minus the burger. He liked the fries and was really excited about his toy car. A big day of firsts!
