The Sunken Gardens

For our Veterans' Day, we headed across the bay to St. Peterburg for the Sunken Gardens, "a botanical paradise in the midst of a bustling city. As St. Petersburg's oldest living museum, this 100 year old garden is home to some of the oldest tropical plants in the region." - from their website. It really was beautiful, and Avery loved being able to run around and explore outside.

Avery with his favorite veteran (although Papaw is a close second!)

My little man ;)

Exploring...Avery led the way most of the day

There were HUGE koi fish throughout the park, and Avery loved looking for them and pointing out all the "wees" to us and anyone else that would listen (his word for fish...no clue how he came up with that).

There was a small children's museum attached to the park, and we had a lot of fun playing together in all of their hands on exhibits.

Avery shopping in the mini-Publix. Too cute!

Smile for Mom!

We had a great family day together and enjoyed exploring a part of our city (well, neighbor city) that we don't make it over to very often. So thankful for all of our veterans and especially proud of mine today and every day!
