Raleigh Day

We had to make a trip to Raleigh to get Phil fitted for his tux for Tim's wedding and order Claire's flower girl dress (woohoo!), so we decided to make a fun day of it. David's Bridal was like Grand Central Station...completely packed and crazy busy. After being told that it would be a 40 min wait to just try on Claire's dress, we decided to find a less congested aisle and try on the dress right there. We survived the line to order and pay for the dress, and then we were on our way to Pullen Park.

It was a beautiful sunny day (75' in February!), and the park was hopping! The kids loved climbing and playing with the other kids, and Phil and I divided and conquered in order to keep up with them.

After a couple good hours of playing and only one scare (where Avery disappeared from our sight for a minute or two), we were ready to pack it up and head for dinner. Phil and I decided to be brave and take them to something other than the usual Panera or fast food. Cowfish is a burger and sushi restaurant that always gets rave reviews. I tried it with my friend Ashley when she was in town and loved it, but Phil hadn't been there yet.

The kids had fun playing games on the patio while we waited for our table. It was super windy!

Bracelets or connect four pieces??

Corn hole was a big hit!

Yay for kids menus that we can color...distraction and keeping busy are key to dining out success. ;)

The kids' bento boxes were really fun, and I loved the healthy side options. The kids were especially excited about the temporary cowfish tattoos and their sushi style rice crispy treat with the gummy fish.

Phil and I were really excited about our food, too. Yummy!! Below is their bbq "sushi" roll (with my mango and shrimp tempura roll underneath)!

It was a long day, but we had a good time getting out of Goldsboro for a little bit, enjoying the beautiful weather, and spending time together.
