We went in search of a large stroller for Disney and ended up having a great little day trip to Greenville, NC, home of the ECU pirates. It was actually a game day vs. Central Florida, but the traffic wasn't too crazy, and the kids loved seeing everyone walking around in their purple. Avery declared that he wanted to move there and was upset that we hadn't worn purple, too. Although the town itself isn't all that pretty, it does have some college town charm/excitement.
After snagging our stroller for a great deal, we made our way away from campus and the craziness to the Uptown District for lunch at The Scullery. This place had great reviews for both breakfast and lunch, and we were excited to try something local and unique.
The kids enjoyed being able to color on the table with chalk, and Phil and I were glad to have them busy and well behaved.
We both tried fancy coffees with our sandwiches, which were almost too pretty to drink. The food and service were both really good, and we ended up being too full to try their homemade ice cream. We'll have to save that for next time.
Brother was a bit of a grouch and decided he didn't want his picture taken with me...
After lunch, we headed to a cute indoor putt-putt place called Captain Jack's. Although none of the holes were particularly long or challenging, it was perfect for our kids. The pirate themed decor was pretty neat (although Avery thought it was a little scary...), and Phil and I were impressed with how clean everything was. It was very reasonably priced and even included free popcorn at the end, which the kids liked watching be popped. The kids had a lot of fun, and Avery was much more forgiving about the "rules" this time. This will be a great place to come back to when it's super hot outside.
