Thanksgiving in Florida!

This was our first year hosting Thanksgiving, and we were really excited to have family come to visit us here in Florida. My mom, dad, sister Shelley, and her fiance Dan, all came down, along with Phil's mom, two youngest sisters, Anna and Lydia, and his brother Tim and Tim's girlfriend, Taylor. His family stayed in a beautiful condo at Porto Fino, my parents were with us and then at a hotel close by on Scenic Hwy, and Shelley and Dan stayed with us when they got into town. There were lots of people to play with the kiddos, and we all had a great time.

Avery had his Thanksgiving program at preschool, and he was super excited that Mimi and Grandpa got into town just in time to come, too!

It was chilly that week, but we were still able to get out on the beach to walk, take pictures, and look for shells...

The kids spent one night at the condo with Nana and the Stephens crew, so we took advantage of the kid-free time and caught a movie (the latest Hunger Games) and finally got to eat at Another Broken Egg Cafe with Shelley and Dan the next day. The food was sooo yummy!

The kids were even brave enough to swim in the pool. Thankfully, it was heated! The big people still preferred the hot tub!

Avery and Claire had a fun time building blocks with Grandpa and bonding over their mutual love for youtube (although Grandpa had to play mostly elmo and minnie mouse shows this time!).

Phil fried two turkeys, and they were delicious. I wish I would have gotten a picture of our tables because Shelley helped me to decorate them, and we were finally able to put to use our wedding china!

Claire made it through the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, but she didn't find the football games quite as interesting.

She wasn't the only one worn out from all the excitement that week...

We missed Papaw, Jared, Naomi and Cory, and Luke and Alison, along with our extended Louisville family that we usually see over the holiday. However, it was a great week, and we are grateful for those that made the trip to spend it with us!
