This past weekend, the kids and I took a short trip up to Montgomery to visit Phil (who is in Squadron Officer School at Maxwell AFB for 8 weeks) and to see my Aunt Shirley, my cousin Wayne, his wife Shannon, and their two kids, Alison (5) and Eric (3 this week!). Our kids had never met, and we were really excited to see them! It was cold and gloomy but we enjoyed our time up there, and hope they can come down to visit us soon!
Alison did a great job holding and playing with Claire!
The boys, both still 2, enjoyed playing alongside each other and fighting for whatever toy the other one had. ;)
We were officially spoiled with Shannon making us lunch and Aunt Shirley making dinner and breakfast the next day. Everything was yummy, and it was nice spending time together and not chasing kids around a restaurant. :)
Avery talked Aunt Shirley into helping him work his new puzzle a couple of times.
We visited downtown :
This is where I worked during ASBC right after we got married: Beasley Allen and Associates...still some of the prettiest buildings downtown and prime real-estate, right on the water.
Avery running past the office...
Before we left town, we ate at Cici's (loud, kid friendly establishment...this is how we roll, now)...
and visited the "big fish" or "Washington store," as Avery calls it. (The picture on the Washington piece of the USA puzzle that Aunt Shelley gave him is of a big fish...in case you were wondering.)
Practicing for driving Grandpa's boat this summer!
Sissy enjoying the "ride!"
We are looking forward to seeing Phil again next weekend and heading home for Easter!
