Avery and I made a quick impromptu trip home a few weeks ago to spend some much needed quality time with both sides of our family. I wasn't planning on taking any more trips before baby girl gets here, but Avery had been talking a lot about wanting to visit Nana and Papaw's house and Mimi and Grandpa's house, wanting to play with them, and about how their houses were "far far away." The guilt trip worked, along with the timing, and we were able to caravan home with my sister-in-law, Naomi, and her boyfriend after their visit to our place.
Avery was a champ in the van for the 10 hour trip (aren't DVD players wonderful!?!), and it was really nice to have an extra set of hands and some good company for the drive.
Home was HOT...like 107 degrees plus humidity hot. We spent most of our time indoors, and I was too lazy being big and pregnant to get many pictures. However, it was so nice to get to spend a week with both my family (Shelley, my med student sister, was home, too!) and with Phil's parents and siblings, as well as catching up with other close friends and family. Avery had no shortage of people to help entertain him and couldn't get enough of finally being able to play at Mimi's and Nana's houses.
Here are the few pictures I managed to take:
We went out early one morning to play in the baby pool and help water plants at Mimi and Grandpa's.
We caught up with Ross and had fun splashing in the pool!
Next time we're home, it'll be as a family of four!!
