Avery started a Mothers' Day Out program for the first time this past week, and he did great! The program is at our church, and his classroom is the same one he goes to for Sunday School, so I think that helped a lot. It's just one day a week for 4 1/2 hours, but I'm looking forward to being able to schedule doctor appointments and get my hair cut without worrying about when Phil can be home to watch him or dragging him along with me.
Each day of the summer program has a theme, and last week was water day. The kids got to play with water toys and slip and slide inflatables and received a visit from firemen who let them climb up into their fire truck. Avery was pretty worn out when we picked him up, but he did manage to tell us that he played outside in the water with friends and saw a fire truck before he fell asleep in his carseat. I think we're both looking forward to Tuesday when he can go back again. This week is ice cream day with a visit from a dentist...interesting combination. ;)
Uncle Tim was in town to help with the drop off!
