WANTED

An older couple to act as surrogate family members for military family far from home.
Must be willing to:
-Sit next to us at church.
-Invite us over for an occasional Sunday dinner (or Saturday or Monday through Friday...let's be honest, we are pretty wide open).
-Stop by the house and check in on us now and then.
-Read "Paul the Police Car" and "Brown Bear Brown Bear" over and over to young son.
-Break up the quiet and provide adult conversation that doesn't involve leaving my tv on for background noise.
-Do occasional babysitting so mom can run to the store, go to the doctor, and get eyebrow waxing that's long overdue.
-Share in your family holiday celebrations if we are unable to get leave to make it to ours.
Preferred but not a must:
- Sewing skills (In the time it takes me to get any of Avery's clothes with holes to my mom, he's likely already outgrown them).
- Intermediate knowledge of cars. Would like for a gentleman to accompany me to the mechanics so that I don't get taken advantage of and end up with my roterers (sp?) sanded instead of just my oil changed.
- Basic handyman skills and willingness to kill/trap rodents and large insects.
*Payment will be in the form of hugs, thank you notes, and an occasional home cooked meal or baked good (if you help watch the baby while I make it!)
*All applicants will be considered, and judgement will also be based on religious preference and sexual orientation in addition to aforementioned requirements and skills. Sorry. So sue me.
