Today was a big day! Phil came home from his deployment!! Surprisingly, there were not only no delays, but they were actually a little ahead of schedule. Phil never seems to get home on time, so this caused some major last minute running around on my part (groceries, balloons, a quick cleaning of the house). We were so excited to get to base to pick him up. :) Our good friend Erica was nice enough to volunteer to take some pictures of the big reunion.
Why am I doing this post instead of spending qt with my husband, you wonder? Because, per usual post deployment routine, he could only keep his eyes open until about 8:30. ahhh....jet lag. :) (and I, who got a full night's sleep, ordered a starbucks with him on the way home- so not smart!!)

The plane's here, and the stairs are in place...should be any time now!(Hoping he hurries up, because it is HOT out here!)
By the way, the beast of a plane in the background...my hubby landed it today (as he's done many times before, of course). However, it still amazes me how they even get off the ground in the first place!
Avery loved Phil's water bottle! Perfect souvenir...even if it's not the camel we requested. ;)(Actually, Phil bought Avery a really cute Paddington bear from London that he really likes, too...almost as much as the water bottle.)

Gotta love the jet-lagged first nights. The first 2 deployments I was so disappointed... but now I just expect it. :-) Glad you're all together again!
