Today, Avery tried solid foods for the first time. It was just watery (formula-y?) rice cereal, but what a big step from where we started! He didn't quite know what to think, and most of it ended up on his face and bib, but at least he didn't act like he hated it. We will keep trying the rice cereal (experimenting with consistency), and when he has that down, we'll move on to sweet potatoes (and other fruits and veggies)!
After Avery's dinner, if you can call it that, we headed out to the Hillsborough County Fair. Although a lot of it was rides and games that Avery was too young for and Phil and I couldn't do with the baby in tow, it was a lot of fun introducing him to all the different animals there for the first time. I think the cow was his favorite. :) Maybe next year we'll go back, and he'll tell us what noise each of them makes.
Tomorrow, Avery and I are headed to a pumpkin patch, so more pictures to come! Yay for this beautiful fall weather...even in Florida.
