We are really enjoying the fall season so far in NC! We bought a fire pit, and the kids love doing smores on the weekend...
Claire just likes her chocolate by itself, though. ;)
Phil loves a fire...but doesn't like camping, so this is more our style. :)
The kids picked out their own pumpkins from a roadside stand. (Avery is going to a "real" pumpkin patch with his class as a field trip.) Avery loves his "ghost" pumpkin and insisted on us carving it this year. Claire will paint hers. Pictures to come!
We went to a fall festival at a church right outside our neighborhood, and the kids loved all the inflatables! Claire showed no fear going up the big rock wall and then down the slide. It helps to have a big brother to chase after!
We cooled down with free snow cones which were a tasty but very sticky and messy treat. We are still working on the whole getting the spoon from the cup to the mouth without dumping half of it thing. ;)
Avery took Dad out to dinner with our Texas Roadhouse gift card from Nana and Papaw. It's his new favorite place because you can throw peanuts on the floor, something strongly discouraged at our house. :)
We've also taken Phil to our favorite local bakery, Mickeys. The pastries are excellent, but the kids love the fully stocked melissa and doug kitchen the best! Brother helps Claire with her apron before getting to work. He's getting great with knots and has almost mastered tying his shoes!
Daddy took Claire golfing because she was literally begging him to go (I'm still not sure that he hasn't secretly been working on this behavior with her...). Her favorite parts are riding in the cart and looking through the range finder. This is the best pic they got because she's horrible at letting us take her picture these days.
They love to swing at the park, but they are especially excited about the new (to us) trampoline that we have in the backyard. Yay, craigslist!
Phil and I love it too because the more they jump, the easier they go to sleep. :)
