Ozone Pizza Pub

Tonight, Phil and I took the kids to try out a new-to-us pizza joint in the East Hill area of Pensacola. Ozone Pizza Pub is in the basement of the old Sacred Heart Hospital (opened in 1915), and many say it sits in the same location as the old morgue. However, when I asked our server about the history of the location, she said that the pub was actually in the hospital's original segregated cafeteria...so who knows.  I like the story of the morgue better. ;)

Avery and Claire didn't care much for the history, but they did love the pizza! 

They also really liked looking at all of the colored pizza slices hanging on the walls around us in the "back room."

There was a classic pac-man video game that cost a whopping $1 a game, but of course we had to let Avery try it out.

The hospital used to be run by the Sisters of Charity, and apparently there is still the ghost of a friendly nun that haunts the hallway that used to lead to the chapel. Some say you can feel her tap you on the shoulder as you walk down the hall.  Much of the hospital is open to the public and holds other restaurants and small shops and offices. We walked down a few halls but didn't find any chapels or feel a tap. We did however find this cool built in slide...or body chute. ;)

Overall, a great family outing, and we will be back for sure!
