Avery had his first follow-up appointment with Dr. Paidas and the pediatric surgery group at Tampa General on Monday. They were all really excited about how well he is doing. His incision is healing well, and it's no longer covered with any dressings (so he almost looks like a "normal" baby). They were happy to hear what a good eater he is and that he's continuing to gain weight. Dr. Paidas greeted him with a big kiss, scooped him up, and then paraded him around the office for everyone to see. Avery was quite the center of attention! We are so grateful to this man for, in essence, saving our son's life, and he will always be like a hero to our family. We couldn't be happier with how the surgery went and with Avery's recovery so far. He will visit with Dr. Paidas again in three months, and we hope and pray that he will continue to heal just as well.
