I was lucky enough to finally go on a real TDY that is not to the desert. We traveled all over Europe. England was our first stop. The next day we went to the island of Crete. We stayed in Crete for two days. The weather was awesome while we were there, upper 60's and sun! The island there was beautiful. We stayed in a town called Chania which was right on the water (it is hard to find a city that is not on the water!). We ate a lot and sampled a variety of local wines. I had to bring back some local olive oil and wine. It would be a shame not to.
The next day we went to Spain. We stayed in the city of Sevilla. We didn't get to do a whole lot here but it was very neat. Christopher Columbus is entombed in the chapel in downtown Sevilla. We ate some great tapas for dinner then it was off to bed for an early show time the next day.
Our last stop was the Azores, the Portuguese islands. The weather was very suspect here. It was completely different every 5 minutes. It looked like something out of a medieval town. It was very modern, but the architecture was very renaissance inspired.
After 6 days on the road it was definitely great to be back in Tampa, even though the temperature was FREEZING. It was colder here in Florida than it was everywhere we went except England!
Here are some pictures from my trip.
