Easter

We had a wonderful Easter! The weather has been so nice. It was perfect for egg hunts, and both kids were excited to take part in them at school.

I helped out with Claire's egg hunt, and then Phil was able to take lunch to Avery at school and stay for his egg hunt. Avery was really excited to have his dad there (and even cried when he left).

Ready...Set...

 Go!!

Examining his loot afterwards...

Easter morning, the kids hunted for their baskets, per tradition. They also read about and opened up their last resurrection egg.  It was empty! He has risen!

The kids semi cooperated for a picture after coming home from church.

Avery even took one himself of me and Phil. He's getting pretty good!

After a quick lunch, Phil and I hid eggs around the house that we had stuffed the night before with jelly beans and Easter gummies.

I love how Claire is so smiley in all the pictures, where as Avery is all business. :)

That night, the kids helped me to make resurrection cookies. Avery was able to read from his bible as we went through each step. They then "sealed the oven tomb" and made signs to keep anyone from opening.

Despite all the candy and subsequent sugar high, they were excited to get to bed because Mimi and Grandpa were coming in the morning!
