We had a beautiful day for Mother's Day, so we decided to head back out to Cliffs of the Neuse for a hike after church. The kids didn't really get the memo that it was "my day," however, and they were quite fussy and grouchy most of the day. The river had also risen quite a bit with all the rain we had, so we were only able to do 1 of the 3 big trails... and it had lots of stairs bigger than Claire... and fire ants... a lot of them. Boo. We were able to spend the day together, though, so that's what mattered. It was also a pretty accurate depiction of motherhood (we'll take the good with the bad!). Why mix it up just for Mother's Day?! I do love these two so, especially when they're sleeping...so angelic. ;)
