This was Claire's first year painting pumpkins, and she liked the painting part but ignored the pumpkin... She'd rather paint her belly instead. Mimi and Grandpa were in town to help supervise and cheer them on.
Avery was an old pro at painting his pumpkin this year, and he wanted it to have some of every color, including orange.
She's in love with her belly button!
The kids were already tired by the time it got dark, so I wasn't sure how well they'd do trick or treating. However, they both surprised us and made it down two streets melt-down free. Avery did a much better job of saying "trick-or-treat" and his "thank-you's" this year. He did have a pretty hard time seeing in his robot hat, so Phil had to carry him quite a bit.
Claire was super sleepy and had me carry her all evening, but she would not let go of her bucket, no matter what. She picked out a few pieces of candy for herself but mostly just held it out for whatever anyone wanted to give her.
Both kids slept really well that night! We didn't get many trick-or-treaters at our house, so we have plenty of Halloween pretzels to eat on for the next month or so.
Check out the pumpkins Phil and I carved! :)
